T10 Project

Many years ago, while in prayer for Thailand somewhere in Chiang Mai, a quiet voice whispered: “What if 10% of Thailand becomes mine?”

This was a startling question! I was surprised as much as I was bothered by it; I was surprised because I wasn’t thinking about such a thing, about numbers and percentages and mathematical or statistical data – I was just on my knees praying for the country my heart was captured by. But I was also bothered because I was aware that it’s coming up to 200 years since the evangelical gospel had been brought to Thailand, and yet, less than 1% of the people currently believe in Jesus.

Then the reality set in – a feeling of impossibility – if almost 200 years did not get this done, how can we get 10% of this land to become followers of Christ? There, as i pondered this question in prayer, I concluded that ‘Only God could do this’, and if He wants it, He will have to do it by His Spirit. There’s really no other conclusion.

1. By the year 2033, Thailand will mark 200 years of evangelical or protestant missionary work
2. If the notion that Jesus gave the Great Commission of Matthew 28 around 33 AD, then in 2033 the global church will be commemorating the 2000th anniversary of the Great Commission to the apostles and the early church.

There can be no better way to mark such a symbolic and important milestone than to see the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ penetrate Thailand’s unreached and difficult to reach lands.

Is it possible for a tithe of Thailand – 10% of Thailand – to become believers in and followers of Jesus? Humanly impossible, but absolutely possible by the Spirit and Power of God.

What God has always needed and wanted is willing men and women who understand their own limits and yield to Him and commit to labor along side of Him to see His Kingdom move forward.

This is the burden behind what we started to call the ‘T10 project’. We decided we will commit ourselves to pray and serve in any way the Lord will have us, to contribute in a ‘small way’ to the process of the tithing of Thailand to Jesus Christ who died and gave his life for each of the 70 million precious people who inhabit it today.
